A bird in the hand

Monday 11 October 2010

I made this wooly chook a while ago but had not finished, so after being inspired at the Finders Keepers market I have finally given her some eyes. Spring has brought so many birds to our garden. There is a busy blackbird with three hungry babies in a nest above the drain pipe in our front garden. We love watching the noisy beaks bobbing up and down when the mama bird comes with a juicy worm.

What a beautiful sunny day! Sock, Peggy and Lolly have enjoyed the warmer weather too. There was an egg from each of them today as a thank you. Back to school time tomorrow for the kids and time for me to finish some illustrations.

Spring time

Thursday 16 September 2010

Our back yard is full of white blossom and Lolly our bantam hen has started laying eggs again. Hooray for Spring time!

PS. Sock's egg is on the left and Lolly's egg is the little white one.

Sock

Monday 13 September 2010

We had a lovely quiet weekend of catching up with friends and doing things like giving the chook yard a spring clean. Our chook 'Sock' was happy about this but was hoping for a few more leftover scraps from breakfast.
