We bought this special Kokeshi doll in Tokyo twelve years ago. She looks as beautiful as the day we saw her. The artist who painted her must have felt very pleased when standing back and looking at his or her creation. The delicate tinge in her cheeks is perfect, along with her tiny bow of a mouth.
The week has been very busy, trying to catch up on work now that the kids are back at school. When I see the budgie feathers on the floor, I think that is how I feel, running around with feathers in my trail!
I am not sure if you remember the Japanese fabric I bought from Kazari a while ago, but here it is now on a delicately dressed chair. The chair has made a new home in my new studio. I feel like hopping up and down each time I think of the new studio, it is so exciting. I will show more pics in the coming weeks as it comes together.
The weekend has been very busy and exciting with the event of The Canterbury Art Show. Thank you to everyone who came and said hello. I bought these sweet cards above in the gift shop there, they are also available here. I loved Mabel Lucie Atwell's pictures as a child and still do.
