I Dont Believe in Dragons
When my first child went to Fordham Avenue Kinder, she would tell me about a dinosaur that lived under the kinder who was very shy. Some children did not believe the dinosaur was there. When my second child went to kinder he came home with tales of a dragon that lived on the piano, who only came out when the children were quiet. When my third child went to kinder he knew all about the dragon and thought his favourite place to play would be in the sandpit. This story is about a special place where children and dragons can all use their imagination. ~ Anna Walker
Kids Book Review

"Along with singing with the voice of Ella Fitzgerald, my great life dream is to illustrate like Anna Walker. There is something so delicately beautiful and childlike in her work that just transcends the viewer to another world. I can't get enough of Anna's work, and in I Don't Believe in Dragons, I have been very sated, thankyouverymuch. I think it's so important not to underestimate the impact beautiful illustrations have on children. They may not outwardly express their feelings over artwork, but the appreciation is so there... you can see it in their eyes. In I Don't Believe in Dragons, the reader will certainly cop an eyeful of beauty - but the story by this talented author/illustrator is just as beautiful. When kindergarten teacher Miss May tells her children she sees a dragon, the children react if different ways. Some are intrigued, some surprised, some scared. But Jack says he doesn't believe in dragons. When Emma wonders where the dragon is, Jack reminds her there isn't any such thing. When Ned finds a feather and asks if dragons can fly, Jack assures him it's a bird's feather - nothing to do with a dragon. And what about that snoring sound? Not a dragon, insists Jack. So do dragons really exist? Of course they do. I just wish that adorable orange-spotted dragon would visit my house and make cups of tea in my kitchen.
Sigh. Magical."
